The Program Manager of the Step Down unit (CSS) is responsible for managing the daily operations of the CSS unit. The Manager will participate in supervision of staff, programming, licensing and certification. Will be required to rotate call; must be available in the evening and weekends.

  $70,000+ commensurate upon experience and signing bonus eligible.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Program Manager screens potential referrals for direct admission for appropriateness and coordinate admissions.
  • Co-leads unit staff meetings.
  • Completes MDT (multi-disciplinary team) notes.
  • Schedule interviews and co-interview applicants with the Program Director.
  • Conduct training/orientation of new hires to ensure that proscribed model of care is followed.
  • Provides ongoing supervision to non-medical staff.
  • Conducts performance reviews and competency assessments for non-clinical staff.
  • Makes and recommends to the Program Director recommendations including coaching, training, promotion, and performance improvement plans.
  • Complete monthly counselor, recovery specialist, and driver schedules.
  • Complete weekly group schedule.
  • Assists with corrective behavioral meetings and administrative discharges with clients.
  • Shares on-call coverage with the Program Director.
  • Carries a caseload when necessary.
  • Runs a group when necessary.
  • Timely completes all trainings, certifications, re-credentialing and licensing renewals requirements.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience and Skills:

Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a counselor in the field of substance abuse.
  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience, required.
  • Effective in engaging clients.
  • Demonstrated administrative and program planning skills.
  • Commitment to working in the field of substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Certification in Addiction Counseling, preferred.
