is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our
employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment
Programs, including the HRSA LRP.
The Fall River Prevention Coordinator will be
responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of a
primary prevention grant funded by the MA Department of Public
Health-Bureau of Substance Addiction Services. Responsible for
supporting prevention programming, coalition and capacity building,
social media and marketing, and program development as it pertains to
SSTAR’s prevention initiatives. This position requires
knowledge/experience in substance misuse prevention and comfort level
working with school departments, community stakeholders, programs and
services in the Greater Fall River area. Some evenings and weekends
may be required. This is an onsite position.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the activities outlined in the grant proposal and
RFR utilizing the Strategic Prevention Framework and other community
assessment tools/activities.
- Support and/or lead cluster communities by attending Coalition,
Task Force and related meetings.
- Work as a team member with SSTAR Prevention on
community/prevention related initiatives, policies, and procedures.
- Represent SSTAR and substance use prevention in the catchment area.
- Continually work with communities to gather data needed to inform
the work and complete all necessary reports.
- Manage and/or assist with social marketing pertaining to substance
use prevention, positive youth development and related topics.
- Attend trainings, conferences, community and BSAS meetings.
- Continually work on professional development.
- Work with community members, schools, key stakeholders and
organizations to incorporate racial/health equity, trauma informed
approaches, positive youth development and other prevention
programming principles to support sustainable, evidence-based
Prevention efforts.
- Work with and support other Coordinators/Director’s within our agency.
- Maintain flexibility to provide some evening and/or weekend duties.
- Adhere to the work schedule. Obtains supervisor approval in
advance of schedule conflicts as well as late arrivals or early departures.
- Facilitate small and large focus groups.
- Request, Research and Present data and issues pertaining to
substance use, prevention, positive youth development and related topics.
- Comfortable facilitating small and large focus groups and
presentations on issues pertaining to substance use, prevention,
positive youth development and related topics.
- Comfortable requesting, researching, compiling and presenting data
on substance use related issues and topics.
- Records all hours worked by the last day of the pay period.
- Follows the incident reporting policy and procedure in reporting
any unsafe/unusual safety issues.
- Some local, statewide and national travel may be required for
meetings, activities and training.
