physical, and spiritual well-being of everyone we touch. SSTAR
is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our
employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment
Programs, including the HRSA LRP.
The Clinician provides education, advocacy, and
counseling (both individual and group) for victims of intimate-partner
violence and domestic abuse.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide counseling for survivors of complex trauma, who may also
experience mental health and substance use disorders, including
intake assessments, individual counseling, and group therapy.
- Provide on-going weekly groups for victims, incorporating
trauma-informed approaches with the empowerment model of treatment
and psychoeducation on domestic and intimate-partner abuse.
- Develop group treatment plans utilizing evidence-based curricula,
established group protocols and best practices.
- Assist clients in developing personalized safety plans by
assessing their risks, needs and resources.
- Assess client needs regarding other SSTAR and Women’s Center
services and refer accordingly.
- Provide information on available community-based services, such as
legal and judicial supports, housing, transitional assistance,
victim compensation, etc.
- Support case management functions as necessary, working in
conjunction with other staff.
- Maintain electronic case records, including clinical assessments,
progress notes, and treatment plans, in a timely manner and in
compliance with agency standards.
