employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment
Programs.
The Crisis Intervention Specialist works with the Director of the
Women’s Center and Women’s Center Intake Clinician to evaluate callers
for appropriateness for services and schedules appointments for
counseling intake.
Shift: 8:00am-4:00pm

Duties & Responsibilities
- The Crisis Intervention Specialist answers Women’s Center
Help-Line calls during business hours.
- Conduct Women’s Center Intake Screenings and provide
crisis-intervention support as needed.
- Assess client needs regarding Women’s Center services and refer
accordingly, as well as provide information on available community
services, including legal and judicial supports.
- Use empowerment model and trauma-informed practices, working with
clients to explain their rights and options.
- The Crisis Intervention Specialist helps victims to identify
support systems and other community assistance programs, for needed
support such as housing, shelter, legal services, health care,
child-care, and general assistance.
- Assist clients in developing personalized safety plans by
assessing their risks, needs and resources.
- Provide phone support and triage for walk-in clients requesting
Women’s Center services as needed.
- The Crisis Intervention Specialists works collaboratively with
advocates in the courts and police stations to provide support and
direction for clients.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (may be waived for relevant, comparable level of
work or life experience).
- Prior experience in working with domestic violence, complex
trauma, and/or crime victims.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and compassionate when working
with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other
professionals and maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Sensitivity to diversity issues and a commitment to cultural competency.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese) preferred.
HOURLY SALARY RANGE: $19 - $21
