The Lead Counselor Inpatient Programs provides
advanced clinical counseling, case management, and program leadership
to support individuals receiving inpatient substance use treatment
services. This role promotes trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and
culturally responsive care while supporting patients in achieving
stability, safety, and progress in recovery.
Shifts: 1st shift with some evenings, to include
rotating weekends. This is a full-time, 40-hour/week opportunity.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive training and orientation for new staff
members to ensure adherence to program standards and clinical best practices.
- Manage methadone transfer/guest dosing processes for patients
admitted to the inpatient programs ensuring compliance with
regulatory and agency protocols.
- Adheres to the work schedule. Obtains supervisor approval in
advance of schedule conflicts as well as late arrivals or early departures.
- Records all hours worked by the last day of the pay period.
- Responds appropriately to all Code Calls
- Treats patients, and colleagues with dignity and respect; honors
each person’s right to privacy/ maintains strict patient and
colleague confidentiality
- Follows the incident reporting policy and procedure in reporting
any unsafe/unusual safety issues.
- Timely completes all trainings, certifications, re-credentialing
and licensing renewals requirements.
- Conduct intake/orientation of newly admitted patients.
- Obtain psycho--social histories and establish treatment plans
within 24 hours of admission.
- Create Relapse Prevention plan within 48 hours.
- Complete Columbia Suicide Assessment as needed.
- Complete ASAM assessment on day 1 and every 7 days thereafter.
- Explains to patients the pros and cons and indications for
different forms of MAT.
- Perform individual counseling with assigned patients.
- Complete discharge summary/aftercare plan for each assigned
patient at the conclusion of treatment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide training and orientation for new counseling staff to
support adherence to program standards and clinical best practices.
- Offer mentorship and guidance to colleagues on clinical
documentation, assessments, and treatment planning.
- Participate in clinical supervision and professional development
activities to maintain and enhance clinical competence.
- Other duties as assigned.
- CAC, CADC, LADC 2, or the capacity to test and certify as CAC
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or similar discipline, preferred.
- Two years' experience in a substance use treatment setting or
completion of a clinical internship in conjunction with an
accredited academic program
- Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, medical
providers, and other staff.
HOURLY WAGE RANGE: $23-$26/hour
