Job Description:

The Clinician is responsible for the provision of direct services through individual and group counseling to patients enrolled in SSTAR’s MAT program, with special focus on Hispanic/Latino patients. The Clinician will be embedded within the MAT program while serving Hispanic/Latino patients as part of a SAMHSA grant, Fuerza Latina, focused on HIV and SUD treatme


1. Participate as a member of the SAMHSA Fuerza Latina community program serving

Hispanic/Latino patients within SSTAR’s facility, providing culturally and linguistically

competent care

2. Provide individual counseling treatment for patients of MAT with a focus on Spanish-

speaking patients

3. Maintain case records in compliance with agency standards

4. Conduct clinical groups for patients of MAT

5. Conduct Ambulatory Behavioral Health intakes for new/unenrolled MAT patients to access


6. Submit billing information daily and communicate with insurance providers as needed

7. Work with the MAT and Fuerza Latina team to assist in the treatment and management of

program patients

8. Provide education to patients, families and staff about care, prevention and treatment

9. Participate in monthly MAT, ABH, and Fuerza Latina staff meetings.

10. Participate in biweekly group supervision and individual clinical supervision

11. Communicate with referring agencies and other community providers on behalf of the client

12. Respond to crisis situations as requested

13. Other duties as required


We are a designated site for state/federal health professional loan repayment programs.


Experience and Skills:


Master’s in Social Work degree or mental health counseling, or relevant master’s degree with

significant experience providing counseling in a clinical setting

Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Experience with Substance Abuse Population.

Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations and crisis interventions

Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary team

Direct care positions in addiction programs require two years of continuous sobriety for individuals in recovery
