Job Description:

SSTAR's Recovery Specialist performs various client care activities and related treatment services necessary in caring for client. The Recovery Specialist is responsible for the satisfactory operation of the Unit and client activities under the direction of the Charge Nurse. Entry level with opportunities for training and promotion after a year. Starting wage is $16.00 per hour plus shift differentials and weekend differentials. Every other weekend is requried, do not apply if you cannot commit to this.

Available Shifts: Second and Overnight, Full and Part Time

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Recovery Specialist insures client safety.
  2. Functions as a cooperative/active member of the treatment team.
  3. Displays the ability to enforce client rules in a therapeutic professional manner maintaining clients' dignity.
  4. Participates with total staff to implement program objectives and philosophy.
  5. Demonstrates professional behavior necessary to function in a health care environment.
  6. Recognizes the value of continuing education and professional growth.
  7. Attends daily rounds with treatment team when able.
  8. Monitors clients' job assignments and self-governing activities.
  9. Facilitates daily groups (including education and peer groups).
  10. Performs Unit orientation and admission & discharge duties as assigned.
  11. Recovery Specialist attends meetings and trainings as required
  12. Take clients vital signs
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications
  1. High School required.
  2. Institutional experience with the care of dual diagnosis clients preferred.
  3. Ability to follow directions accurately.
  4. Displays initiative, responsibility and accountability.
  5. Exhibit a desire to be part of treatment team dedicated to providing optimal client care.
  6. Desire and ability to cooperate with/and under the direction of supervisors.
  7. Evidence of good health, grooming and professional conduct.
  8. Possess awareness of own strengths and limitations
  9. Direct care positions in addiction programs require two years of continuous sobriety for individuals in recovery.
