Job Description:

SSTAR's Intake Worker works within the Opioid Triage Center which provides walk-in triage services and referrals to various levels of treatment for individuals suffering from the disease of addiction. These services include assessments by trained social workers, medical assessments, and facilitated referrals to inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment programs. Additionally, we help family members of individuals with Substance Use Disorders find the help that they need in order to support their loved one.

Hours and Days: M - F, 10:00am - 6:00pm, (Every other weekends 8:30am - 1:00pm pending re-opening on weekend)

Rate of Pay: $15.00

Specifics

  • Collects intake information from clients seeking assessment and access to services, responding to inquiries on the phone and in person.
  • Engages the individual requesting services to ensure they feel welcome, cared about, and heard.
  • Effectively link with other members of the OTC team - Clinician, nursing, RSN, family support.
  • Explores resources for referral.
  • Verifies insurance coverage.
  • Reports insurance discrepancies and/or financial problems to the billing office.
  • Keeps track of bed availability and admissions accordingly.
  • Establishes and maintains up-to-date waiting and problematic admission lists.
  • Responds to OTC inquiries through phone, and in person.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Direct care positions in addiction programs require two years of continuous sobriety for individual in recovery.
