The Systems Engineer Level 1 is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network and systems infrastructure. This role will ensure that the IT Systems operate efficiently, securely, and reliably to meet the needs of the business. Collaboration with other IT professionals, such as system administrators, security analysts, and fellow team members, will be essential to deliver effective network solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Systems Engineer Level 1 is an expert with Office 365 Administration and user support
  • Expert in deployment of Critical Patch Management Strategies
  • Focus on Cyber Security with regards to Design, SD-WAN, and Redundancy design for Disaster
  • Troubleshoots network architecture to meet the organization's requirements for performance, scalability, and security
  • The Systems Engineer Level 1 plans and implements network upgrades and expansions to accommodate growth and technological advancements
  • Conducts capacity planning and traffic analysis to optimize network performance
  • Monitors network performance, availability, and security using network monitoring tools and techniques
  • Identifies and resolves network issues and outages in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruption
  • The Systems Engineer Level 1 performs root cause analysis for network incidents and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence
  • Experience with VMware and SAN Infrastructure along with system DR Strategies
  • Excellent User support skills when working calls and help desk tickets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Extreme, Fortinet, VMware, Crowdstrike) may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of networking principles and technologies.
  • Familiarity with core applications and the ability to assist users in a remote capacity.
  • Ability to learn quickly and be crossed trained on servers and user devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with Extreme Wi-Fi Architecture along with troubleshooting user connectivity issues

Other Requirements

  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Standard Required Working hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
  • Cultural sensitivity is necessary to work with a diverse patient and staff population required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written required.
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours as needed for network maintenance, upgrades, or incident response.
  • Willingness to stay updated on emerging networking technologies and best practices through self-study, training, and professional development activities.
  • Small Stipend available for rotating on-call after hours coverage.
