SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs, including the HRSA LRP.

The Program Coordinator organizes the activities of the SSTAR & City of Fall River CARA collaborative initiative to reduce overdoses and improve linkage to addiction and recovery services. The Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Act (CARA) project aims to prevent and reduce opioid overdoses.

30 hours/week. This is a benefited position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recruits and orients staff for SSTAR’s role in the CARA project in tandem with supervisor.
  • Provides administrative supervision to SSTAR-CARA Recovery Coach and Educator.
  • Coordinates with City’s CARA Administrator and around achievement of Project Goals.
  • Serves as SSTAR liaison to First Responder groups, and city health officials involved in the project.
  • Works with SSTAR addiction M.D and community educators to coordinate trainings for the target groups - first responders as well as Portuguese and Hispanic/Latino communities.
  • Works with CARA Project Administrator and Evaluators to identify and resolve any problems associated with meeting project milestones.
  • Works with City officials, project staff, and Evaluator to prepare grant reports as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills.
  • Certified Human Rights Officer, preferred.
  • Commitment to serving the target population.
  • Experience in an educator role.
  • Prefer experience working with first responders and other community groups.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills.
  • Understanding of addiction and recovery.
  • Familiar with Fall River area addiction and recovery resources.
